Start, Pause and Stop Logging

Start Logging

In order to start logging, click the button labeled LOG DATA. The button will turn green, and the button's label will change to LOGGING. A dialog box will come up and prompt you for a the log file storage location on the PC hard drive. Once you select a location, the logging begins and the log file path indicator shows the path and filename of the log file in use.

Once logging begins, the data are continuously streamed to the log file and stored on the PC hard drive. If power is lost, your data will still be recorded in the log file.

Note that while you select a location to store the log file, no data is acquired by the software. This may lead to a small gap in the data displayed on the chart.

Pause Logging

If you need to pause the data log (for example, you may not wish to record data while you change experimental conditions), click the green LOGGING button. This will allow data acquisition to continue and the data will be displayed on the chart, but no data points are logged.

Stop Logging

In order to end all logging of an experiment, click the RUNNING button. This will stop data acquisition and allow you to choose a new log file for data storage.
